The Department coordinates with the Government of India and implement policies to improve air connectivity in the State. The Department also looks after the functioning of Punjab State Civil Aviation Council. The Department works as owner and operator of the State Government Helicopter and ensures compliance of air safety and airworthiness standards established by the Director General of Civil Aviation, Government of India.
