Development of Civil Enclave at Pathankot
The Government of Punjab pursued the case of Airport at Pathankot for increased connectivity to this region which is at a tri-junction of three States – J&K, HP and Punjab. This has led to development of overall development of the area – with a mega project of Rs. 800 crores being grounded by PEPSICO as well. The permission for construction of a Civil Enclave was sought and obtained from the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Around 28 acres of land was acquired by the Government of Punjab at a cost of Rs. 2.73 crore at village Mera Mahantan, Pathankot. Presently 3 flights per week are operating from this airport to Delhi.
