Punjab State Civil Aviation Council (PSCAC)
Government of Punjab notified the constitution of the Punjab State Civil Aviation Council (PSCAC) in 2015. The PSCAC was created to upgrade the standards and infrastructure in aviation trainings i.e. flying training and aviation engineering and allied aviation courses. All the four flying training institutes viz Patiala Aviation Club, Amritsar Aviation Club, Ludhiana Aviation Club and Northern India Flying Club were subsumed in the council for better coordination, up-gradation of infrastructure and more efficient utilization of manpower. Punjab State Civil Aviation Council has a fleet of 2 Cessna 172 single-engine trainer aircrafts purchased at a cost of Rs.4.73 crore and 1 Tecanam P-2006 twin-engine aircraft purchased at a cost of Rs.3.88 crore for providing advanced flying training to the students.
Punjab State Civil Aviation Council is also looking after the functioning of Punjab Aircraft Maintenance Engineering College (PAMEC), Patiala.
Punjab State Aeronautical Engineering College (PSAEC), Patiala, been established under Rashtriya Uchtar Shiksha Abhayn (RUSA) Scheme of the Government of India.
